Autumn-olive is a hardy, prolific plant (up to 10m) that thrives in a variety of conditions, in part because it is capable of fixing nitrogen. Useful in hedges, as a dune stabiliser and as a nurse plant. Growth 2.5m (8 ft) in 10 years.
