Description: A beautiful tree with dark, purple-red young leaves, stems, and blossom. Rich red fruit with strongly pink flesh. Sharp flavour, so best cooked, making an amazing red puree. Possibly related to ‘Wisley Crab’, a form of Malus niedzwetzkyana introduced to the UK direct from the Tien Shan mountains of China in the 19th Century.
