Chinese/ Cathay Quince. Any soil or position in sun or shade. Like others of this family, it bears aromatic fruits which are very large – 10-15 cm long – and can be eaten cooked (they make a good lemony jelly). The fruits are freely produced in Britain and ripen in warm summers. Also a bee plant.
